What is Ask Tom Live?
Ask Tom Live is a question and answer live session hosted by Tom Wheelwright, CPA. Each live session is conducted online through GoToWebinar. There are two different Ask Tom Live subscriptions:
1 - Ask Tom Live: Wealth Edition
2 - Ask Tom Live: Tax Edition
Each subscription has a live session every month.
How long is each monthly live session of Ask Tom Live?
Each live session is 1 hour and is conducted through GoToWebinar.
How do I register for a live session of Ask Tom Live?
Only Ask Tom Live subscribers can register. To register, click on the 'Ask Tom Live' subscription(s) listed on the 'My Account' page in the 'My Subscriptions' section. This will take you to the main page for Ask Tom Live: Wealth Edition or Ask Tom Live: Tax Edition. You can register on this page. Registration opens approximately one week prior to the live session date.
You can also register via email by clicking on the link provided in the invitation email you receive. You will receive this email if you have signed up to receive emails for the specific Ask Tom Live subscription.
Once you register (either through your online account or through email), you'll receive a confirmation email with your access information.
You’ll also receive a reminder email with your access information approximately 6 hours prior to the start of the live session.
What if I don’t receive the confirmation email with my unique access information?
It can take up to one hour to receive the confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please contact us at 888.801.8944 or firstname.lastname@example.org to have us resend it.
Do I need to register for each live session of Ask Tom Live?
Yes, you must register separately for each live session of Ask Tom Live.
Do I need to register for the live session of Ask Tom Live if I am a current subscriber?
Yes, you need to register for each live session every month.
How do I join the live session of Ask Tom Live?
1. To join the live session, open the confirmation email with your unique access information.
2. Click the “Join Webinar” link provided in the confirmation email.
3. If prompted, click “Yes, Grant or Trust to accept the download".
What time should I join the live session of Ask Tom Live?
You can join the live session as early as 15 minutes prior to the start time and any time after that until the live session concludes. If this is your first time using GoToWebinar, we suggest joining 15 minutes prior to the official start time so you can make sure your GoToWebinar access works. Information about how to use the GoToWebinar interface for the live session will be provided during that time.
What are my audio options for the live session of Ask Tom Live?
Once you have joined the live session through your computer, you have two audio choices. By default, when you join the live session through your computer, you will be muted.
Your audio choices are provided in the Audio pane of your Control Panel (more information on the Control Panel is provided in the following pages).
1 – Telephone
It is recommended that you join the live session through your computer first, and then dial in using your telephone.
You must enter the access code that shows on your computer screen after logging in (it is the same access code that shows in your confirmation email).
After logging in, your PIN # will show on your screen. Enter the PIN # in your telephone key pad. The only way to get your PIN # is by logging in through your computer. If your PIN # is not entered, you will be able to listen to the live session but you will not be able to ask questions since the PIN # unlocks our ability to unmute you.
2 – Microphone & Speakers (VoIP)
If you choose this option, you will need speakers to listen to the live session and a microphone to ask your questions.
Please note that with this option, the audio quality can vary based on your audio software/hardware manufacturer as well as your operating system. The following best practices are recommended:
- For optimum sound quality, a headset is recommended, preferably a USB headset
- If a headset is not available, speakers are required to listen to the Webinar and a USB microphone to speak
- If using a microphone, it should be at least 1.5 feet away from any speakers built in or connected to your computer.
- The use of a Webcam microphone is not recommended.
- If you are unmuted by Tom, you may need to turn the volume down on your speakers to avoid echo.

Can I participate using my mobile device?
Yes! Visit www.GoToWebinar.com for available apps to participate using your mobile device.
Do I have to be at a computer to participate in the live session of Ask Tom Live?
Many mobile devices can be used (see above FAQ).
If a mobile device isn't an option for you, then you should be at a computer to participate in the live session so you can log into the live session using GoToWebinar. You can then choose your audio preference of telephone or your computer’s microphone & speakers. By logging in, you can ask Tom questions either by asking the question verbally or typing the question.
If a mobile device or computer are not options for you, you can still participate via telephone. Use the dial-in number and access code provided in your confirmation email. You will be able to listen to the live session, however, you will not be able to ask questions because we will not be able to unmute you. In order to unmute you, you must enter the PIN # provided after you log-in to the live session through your computer or mobile device.
Do I have to use both my computer and telephone to participate in the live session of Ask Tom Live?
No, you do not have to use both. If you select to use your computer’s microphone & speakers for your audio (which you can do after you log-in to the live session on your computer), then you do not need to use your telephone.
What if I can only participate by telephone?
If you are not able to be at a computer for the live session, you can still participate via telephone. Use the dial-in number and access code provided in your confirmation email.
You will be able to listen to the live session, however, you will not be able to ask questions because we will not be able to unmute you. In order to unmute you, you must enter the PIN # provided after you log-in to the live session through your computer.
If you know you will be participating by telephone only and would like to have Tom answer a question, please contact us ahead of time and arrangements can be made to have your question asked on your behalf during the live session.
Is the live session of Ask Tom Live recorded?
Yes, each live session is recorded. Access to the recording is posted in the Ask Tom Live archive in your online account within 1 week following the live session date. An email is sent to notify you when it is posted if you have chosen to receive emails for Ask Tom Live. The recording is provided in MP4 file format (screen & audio) and in MP3 format (audio only). The recording only includes the live session starting at the official time. Any bonus viewings prior to the official start are not included in the recordings.
Step 1: Login to your online account at WealthStrategyU.com.
Step 2: Select 'My Account' from the top navigation menu (You should be directed to 'My Account' page upon logging in).
Step 3: Select 'My Subscriptions'.
Step 4: Select the 'Ask Tom Live' subscription you would like to access.
Step 5: You should now be on the main page for the 'Ask Tom Live' subscription you selected. Scroll down to the section titled "Ask Tom Live: Wealth (or Tax) Edition Recordings Archive" and click on the button to access the archive.
Step 6: Click on the title of the recording you would like to access.
Step 7: Play the recording on the screen or download it.
You can also use the quick link to the archive located in the right hand navigation menu when you are logged in to your online account.
How long is a recording of a live session of Ask Tom Live available?
The recording is available in the Ask Tom Live archive in your online account as long as you are a current subscriber.

What if I need help using GoToWebinar during the live session?
If you need help during the live session, click 'Help' at the top of the Control Panel to access online help. If you need help at any other time, visit www.GoToWebinar.com.
How does the question and answer work during the live session of Ask Tom?
During the live session, there are 2 ways to ask your questions.
1 – Raise your hand.
Raise your hand using the raise your hand feature. Tom (or the facilitator) will select a person with their hand raised when it is time for the next question. That person will be unmuted so Tom can take the question live. This is Tom's favorite way to take questions so you may find that raising your hand gets a faster response than typing in your question. Be sure to raise your hand as soon as you have a question for Tom.
2 – Type in your question.
There is a question box where you can type in your question.
How do I exit the live session of Ask Tom Live?
From your Control Panel, click File and select Exit – Leave Webinar to exit the Webinar
How do I change how my name shows up during the live session of Ask Tom Live?
How your name shows during the live session is based on how we have it recorded in our database. If you would like to change how your name shows up, go to the 'My Account' page, select 'Contact Information' and then click where indicated to update your contact information.
Do others see my name during the live session of Ask Tom Live?
Only Wealth Strategy U / WealthAbility team members can see your name. If Tom calls on you to ask a question, he will only use your first name and last initial.
What if my spouse (or business partner) who participates in the live sessions with me will not be at my computer?
Each person must have their own unique access information. If you each receive the emails about the live sessions separately, then you will each be separately invited and can click the link in the email invitation to obtain your separate access information.
If you are not receiving separate emails, then please contact us to set that up for you. A separate email address is required for each person who will be participating.
Who can access the live sessions of Ask Tom Live?
The live session is only accessible to current subscribers using unique access information. The unique access information is provided in the confirmation email sent after registering for the live session.
Those with access to Ask Tom Live and who have chosen to receive emails about the live sessions are invited via email to register for each live session of Ask Tom Live. The invitation to register is sent approximately 1 week prior to the live event. Registration can also be completed in your online account.
When are the live sessions for Ask Tom Live?
The dates and times of the live sessions for Ask Tom Live are posted approximately one month in advance on the subscription pages for Ask Tom Live: Wealth Edition and Ask Tom Live: Tax Edition and on the home page of this website.
How do I receive emails about the live sessions of Ask Tom Live?
Go to the subscription page for Ask Tom Live in your online account. You can submit your request to receive these emails at the bottom of the page. If you are in both the Wealth Edition and Tax Edition, you must do this for each edition if you would like to receive emails for both editions.
How do I use the Control Panel in GoToWebinar?
Once you have joined the live session, you will see the Control Panel. Follow the instructions provided on the screen.
How do I renew my subscription?
You can renew any of your subscriptions by going to the 'My Account' page in the 'My Subscriptions' section.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel any of your subscriptions and monthly billing at any time by going to the 'My Account' page in the 'My Subscriptions' section.
How do I update the credit card used for my subscription billing?
You can update your credit card information by going to the 'My Account' page in the 'My Subscriptions' section. Please note that for security purposes, the credit card currently linked to your subscription billing will not show in your online account.
Where can I find the Online Subscription Agreement?

Section 1: INTRODUCTION
Before subscribing to an online subscription, you are required to agree to the terms of this Agreement by clicking the “I Agree. Continue with my subscription order.” button on this web page. Clicking this button is your acknowledgement that you agree to the terms of this Agreement. We intend the clicking of this button to be the legal equivalent of your signature and your acknowledgement that you agree to the terms of this Agreement.
Section 2: ACCESS
Your access to the various pages, areas, tools and resources available on WealthStrategyU.com (“the system”) depends on the subscription to which you subscribe. You may cancel your subscription at any time. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason without notice or refund.
Section 3: FEES AND PAYMENTS
We will charge you the standard monthly fee for the subscription to which you subscribe. You may cancel your monthly billing at any time which will also immediately cancel the access included with your subscription. No refunds are issued for any time remaining in your monthly subscription at the time you cancel. You must receive written confirmation from us via email as evidence of your cancellation. We reserve the right to change our fees at any time for any reason. Whenever possible, we will give you a 30 day notice of any change in our fees.
Section 4: RULES
You will not share your username and password with anyone. You will not let your online access be used by anyone other than yourself. You will respect other subscribers and not do anything to attack or harm others. Your failure to follow these rules may result in the termination of your subscription with no refund.
Section 5: PROPRIETARY RIGHTS
All subscribers are deemed to have disclaimed or waived all copyright ownership rights in any comments posted by the subscriber or as a result of the subscriber’s access.
Section 6: LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
You must bear the risk of any liability relating to the use of the system. ACCORDINGLY, YOUR USE OF THE SYSTEM IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTIES FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OR LOSSES YOU MAY INCUR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SYSTEM, YOUR USE THEREOF OR ANY OF THE DATA OR OTHER MATERIALS TRANSMITTED THROUGH OR RESIDING ON THE SYSTEM, REGARDLESS OF THE TYPE OF CLAIM OR THE NATURE OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION, EVEN IF WE HAVE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE OR LOSS.

You shall defend and indemnify us and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, proceedings, damages, injuries, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), relating to any acts by you or materials or information transmitted to you in connection with the system leading wholly or partially to claims against us or the system by other subscribers or third parties, regardless of the type of claim or the nature of the cause of action.

THE SYSTEM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE OR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, CONDITION, GUARANTY OR REPRESENTATION, WHETHER ORAL, IN WRITING OR IN ELECTRONIC FORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION CONTAINED THEREIN OR PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE.
Section 9: CHOICE OF LAW
You agree that this Agreement shall for all purposes be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Arizona and that any action arising out of this Agreement shall be litigated and enforced under the laws of the state of Arizona, and that any legal action pursued by you shall be within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the state of Arizona.

This Agreement represents the entire understanding between you and us regarding your subscription and supersedes any prior statements or representations. Yes. Wealth Strategy U is mobile device friendly so you can conveniently access your online course.
Can I save and / or download the online course materials?
Yes, all of the materials can be downloaded at any time through the online course page in your Wealth Strategy U online account.
Can the materials for an online course be downloaded in bulk?
Yes. On the online course page in your Wealth Strategy U online account, a zip file is available for download and it contains all the materials for that particular online course.
How long do I have access to my online courses?
You have access as long as your online account is active. Most customers leave their account active indefinitely.
How long are the videos in the online courses?
Each video averages from 40 minutes to an hour.
